The partnership brings together pioneering tokenization technology, purpose-built blockchain infrastructure, & an ecosystem advancing tokenized assets globally.

Bringing together the people, knowledge, resources, and opportunities shaping the future of Real-World Asset tokenization globally.”

MIAMI, FL, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The STO Foundation, which will officially rebrand as the Tokenized Asset Foundation on October 1, 2026, today announced that Polymath and the Polymesh ecosystem have joined the Foundation as Founding Partners.

The relationship brings one of the tokenization industry’s most established technology organizations and a purpose-built blockchain for real-world assets into the Foundation’s growing international network of issuers, financial institutions, legal and compliance professionals, technology providers, investors, and market infrastructure companies.

Polymath has played a pioneering role in the evolution of digital securities. The company provides technology that helps organizations create, issue, distribute, and manage tokenized assets, including its white-label Polymath Capital Platform. Polymath also developed Polymesh, an institutional-grade Layer 1 blockchain purpose-built for regulated assets. Polymesh incorporates identity, compliance, governance, confidentiality, and settlement capabilities at the protocol level to address the operational and regulatory requirements of tokenized capital markets.

The partnership comes as the U.S. regulatory framework for tokenized securities enters a new phase. On September 1, 2026, the Securities and Exchange Commission proposed the first substantive overhaul of its transfer agent rules since the framework was established in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The proposed release expressly addresses electronic and blockchain-based recordkeeping, the use of distributed ledger technology for official securityholder records, and new compliance, risk-management, and cybersecurity standards for the firms that maintain those records. The proposal is open for public comment for 60 days following publication in the Federal Register.

According to Natalie Hirsch, Chief Financial Officer of Polymath: “Tokenized assets are moving from experimentation toward broader institutional adoption, and that transition requires strong infrastructure as well as meaningful cooperation across the market.” The Commission’s proposed transfer agent modernization raises the right questions: how ownership records are maintained on a distributed ledger, how identity and eligibility are verified, and how those records stay accurate, auditable, and available to regulators. Polymesh was engineered around those requirements at the protocol level rather than layering them on afterward. Joining the STO Foundation as a Founding Partner allows us to work more closely with organizations across the tokenized asset lifecycle, contribute what we have learned through years of building in this sector, and help support the responsible growth of a more connected global market.”

As a Founding Partner, Polymath and Polymesh will contribute their experience to the Foundation’s education, industry dialogue, ecosystem development, and collaborative initiatives. Their participation will also give Foundation members greater exposure to purpose-built tokenization infrastructure and practical perspectives on bringing regulated real-world assets on-chain. That work will include engagement on the Commission’s transfer agent proposal during the public comment period, alongside the Foundation’s education and industry-dialogue programs.

“The tokenization market advances when issuers, institutions, technology providers, and professional services firms can find one another and work together effectively,” said Matthew “Matt” Andelman, Head of Business Development at Polymath. “The Foundation is building an important environment for those relationships. We are excited to participate as a Founding Partner, engage with its global membership, and help turn strong ideas and real assets into credible, scalable tokenization initiatives.”

The announcement comes as the Foundation prepares to become the Tokenized Asset Foundation, reflecting its expanded international focus and the market’s continued evolution beyond security token offerings into the broader tokenized asset economy. The organization supports this market through education, industry events, professional connections, issuer and service-provider directories, community discussion, and initiatives to connect credible projects with the expertise and resources they need.

“Polymath helped establish the foundation for today’s digital securities market, and Polymesh was designed specifically around the needs of regulated assets,” said Randy Goldberg, President of the STO Foundation. “Welcoming them as Founding Partners is an important milestone for our organization. Their leadership, technology, and deep market experience will strengthen our ecosystem and help us advance the Foundation’s mission as we enter our next chapter as the Tokenized Asset Foundation.”

The Founding Partnership reflects a shared commitment to responsible innovation, stronger market infrastructure, and practical collaboration across the global tokenized asset ecosystem.
